Mr. Kato gave an account of how IT is revolutionizing our defense system and presented the trends prevailing in the United States which wants to be the first to respond to these changes. His presentation was extremely interesting and resourceful for thought about the direction Japan should address in the future in view of the prevailing trends in the American military-academic complex and its private industry the development of the defense and economic system propelled by the IT revolution, and an ever widening divide in international military power - dominated by that of the United States.
