[Lecturer] Takashi Iwashita (Member of the Editorial Board of The Mainichi Newspapers Co.)

The speaker at the Study Session, Mr. Iwashita, became totally blind at the age of 10 as a result of retinal detachment. He then attended a School for the Blind and went to University. After graduation he joined The Mainichi Newspapers Company. He is on the editorial staff of the Braille newspaper edition. Drawing on his extensive experience, including his overseas study at the University of British Columbia (Canada) and his research on accessibility for the handicapped, he talked about IT and barrier-free accessibility.
