Fiscal 2006 Japan-China Joint Research Project: "States in the Information Age" – Interim Study Session

June 12, 2006, Beijing

An interim study session under the joint research project between the Institute for International Socio-Economic Studies and the China Institute of Contemporary International Relations was held at the China Institute. Under the theme of ‘States in Information Age’, various issues discussed regarding states and cyberspace that surround them in the age of ICT with the background of deepening international mutual dependency and globalization. In particular, the discussion focused on political arguments between China and Japan over the Internet and various unresolved issues between China and the United States. The discussion was earnest and in an unrestricted atmosphere.
