Globalization Forum 2001 under the Title
"Peace and Stability in Asia"

On November 13, 2001, the Institute for International Socio-Economic Studies held the Globalization Forum 2001 under the sponsorship of the Gorbachev Foundation at the U Thant Conference Hall, United Nations University.
Devoted to the theme "Peace and Stability in Asia," the Forum attracted a large audience of more than 360 participants. Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi sent a message to the delegates. The Forum was organized with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Japan, The US Embassy in Japan, the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Japan, and the Yomiuri Shimbun and with the sponsorship of 14 companies.
The Forum welcomed four prominent speakers: Mr. Mikhail Gorbachev (former President of the USSR), Mr. Henry Kissinger (former Secretary of State of the US), Mr. Yasuhiro Nakasone (Member of the House of Representatives and former Prime Minister of Japan) and Mr. Qiu Guohong (Minister-Counselor at the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Japan)
The speeches were delivered in the morning and the afternoon sessions consisted of a panel discussion.
