Japan, China, and Russia: Common Profits and Tasks
On November 24, 2004, the Institute for International Socio-Economic Studies (IISE) organized Globalization Forum 2004 at the Saint-Petersburg State University, St. Petersburg, Russia, as a joint effort with the Gorbachev Foundation. Experts from Japan, China, and Russia gathered to join the session consisting of a keynote speech and a panel discussion on the theme of "Japan, China, and Russia: Common Profits and Tasks" from different angles including politics, economy, environment, energy, education, and culture. Among other things, it was pointed out by a majority of the participants that the three countries play an extremely important role, as counterforce to the United States, in the Pacific / Northeast Asia region, and that it will bring mutual benefit if they strengthen cooperation among them in all areas.
