"Urban Crisis Management: Joining Hands for Safe Beijing Olympics"
In response to a request from the Beijing Olympic Committee to the Chinese Embassy in Japan to gather suggestions for the safe execution of the Beijing Olympics from Japanese experts, as well as in response to a need for research relating to urban public safety and crisis management in both Japan and China, this symposium entitled ‘Urban Crisis Management: Joining Hands for Safe Beijing Olympics’ was held hosted by IISE, the Center for Public Safety, Urban Planning and Design Institute of the Tsinghua University School of Public Policy and Management, and the Center for Crisis Management Research of Tsinghua University, with cooperation of the Crisis Management & Preparedness Organization (a specified non-profit organization), InterRisk Research Institute & Consulting, Inc., Tama University New Institute for Social Knowledge and Collaboration: Kumon Center on the Japanese side, and Human Resource Development Sub-Committee Business Forum of the China National Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation, Tsinghua University Center for Public Safety, College of Resources Science & Technology of Beijing Normal University, and others on the Chinese side.
