The seminar ‘BCM: New International Risk Management Standards’ was held at the Beijing Academy of Science and Technology, Lecture Hall. The seminar was cosponsored by the Beijing Academy of Science and Technology and Tsinghua University, Urban Planning and Design Institute, with the support of IISE, and attended by 50 participants involved in risk management. Following the opening speech by Mr. Ding Hui, President of Beijing Academy of Science and Technology, our Chief Fellow Izumi Harada and Mr. Masahiro Kaishi, Manager of the Shanghai Branch, Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Co., Ltd., presented their keynote lectures. A lively discussion ensued between the presenters and the participants which included students. The Chinese participants showed strong interest in BCM, an endless stream of people wanted to ask more questions even after the conclusion of the seminar.
