A party in celebration of Mr. Tadahiro Sekimoto's reception of the IEEE Medal of Honor was given.
On Wednesday, July 14, 2004, a party celebrating Chairman Sekimoto's reception
of the IEEE Medal of Honor was organized by 71 promoters including Mr. Akito Arima,
Professor Emeritus of the University of Tokyo and ex-member of the House of Councillors,
and Mr. Leona Esaki, President of the Shibaura Institute of Technology, at the
Tokyo Prince Hotel.
This party started with Professor Arima and Chairman Sekimoto welcoming the guests
at the entrance of the party room. With the MM Research Institute's President
Hiroshi Nakajima presiding, the party went on in a congenial atmosphere to a congratulatory
speech by Professor Arima, Chairman Sekimoto's speech of thanks, and a toast by
Mr. Tsuneo Nakahara, Advisor of Sumitomo Electric Industries, and Mr. Hajime Sasaki,
Chairman of NEC Corporation. With the guests conversing to renew their old friendship
with each other, the two-hour party seemed to end all too soon.
