“Understanding Diverse Information Communities”

IISE and the Next-Generation Information Society Subcommittee of the InfoSocionomics Society cosponsored the symposium entitled “Understanding Diversifying Information Society”. Rainy weather did not dampen the spirits of many experts and interested participants who engaged in lively discussion.

The subcommittee of the InfoSocionomics Society collected papers for this symposium from both inside and outside the subcommittee. Twelve papers which passed referee process were presented at the symposium.

The guest speaker Mr. Botaro Hirosaki (Senior Executive Vice President, NEC Corporation) gave a lecture on the “Diversity of Innovation”. In addition, a panel discussion on the theme of “Understanding Diverse Information Communities” by Dr. Shumpei Kumon (The New Institute for Social Knowledge and Collaboration: Kumon Center, Tama University/President, the InfoSocionomics Society), Dr. Jiro Kokuryo (Keio University/Vice President, the InfoSocionomics Society) and Mr. Kan Suzuki (Member of the House of Councillors, the National Diet of Japan).
