“Obama’s Internet Initiative & Social Reform in the U.S. & Japan”
IISE and the Japan Society jointly held a symposium entitled “Obama’s Internet Initiative & Social Reform in the U.S. & Japan” in New York. The speakers included Dr. Kevin Werbach (Associate Professor, University of Pennsylvania, and Advisor, Federal Communications Commission), Mr. Toshihiro Yoshihara (Visiting Fellow, Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS)) and other experts, who engaged in a lively discussion on how the Obama Administration’s policy development, the bold use of the ICT in its implementation process and the open discussion by citizens on the Internet would affect and change real politics, society and business. The participants also discussed the potential of and the problems with the reform.
