IISE seeks to solidify knowledge and wisdom through intellectual exchange with diverse organizations and experts, as well as to put forward a future image of society that we aspire to through our Thought Leadership Initiative. This will be based on our basic research that examines the state and issues of an increasingly digitalizing society, our intelligence on the competitive market environment and geopolitical situation, and risk analysis that ensures economic security.

Thought Leadership

The impact of technology on society is immeasurable. It is critical to adequately adapt technology to society in order for human society and the economy to function safely and securely, and for people to live in a fair and efficient society. We share our Thoughts as a roadmap for dealing with social issues and creating a society that people and future generations can empathize. We will form cross-disciplinary partnerships to find solutions and will continue to promote responsible adoption of new and innovative technologies in society with high standards of excellence.

Basic Research

Since its establishment in July 2000, we have been conducting research and analysis from social, economic, and cultural aspects of the situations and challenges of an increasingly digitalized society. By disseminating the results of these research and analyses widely both domestically and internationally and promoting intellectual exchange, we are working towards contributing to the realization of a sustainable society. Through our Thought Leadership Initiative, we will continue to investigate broad social issues, acquire knowledge and wisdom through intellectual exchanges with diverse organizations and experts, and propose a future vision for society.

Economic Security

We analyze the implications for technology and supply chains from a national security perspective through independent intelligent gathering, research, and risk assessment of the inter-connected and rapidly evolving competitive market environment and geopolitical dynamics. Furthermore, we provide intelligence on the impact of geopolitical trends and new regional and national laws and regulations on businesses, primarily for the NEC Group, in collaboration with prestigious think tanks in Japan and overseas.
