IISE co-hosts New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon

Tokyo, June 21, 2024 Institute for International Socio-Economic Studies (IISE) announced that together with its parent, NEC Corporation, and New Zealand Embassy, it co-hosted New Zealand's Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, who visited NEC’s headquarters in Tokyo on June 19. IISE’s President Toshiya Matsuki welcomed Prime Minister Luxon.

In his speech titled “Strategic Partners for a Secure and Resilient Future,” Prime Minister Luxon expressed gratitude to IISE and NEC for hosting him at the outset, and highlighted Japan's role in promoting stability in the Indo-Pacific region amidst significant environmental changes affecting economic security.

IISE has hosted several symposiums on economic security and has built and enhanced partnerships with embassies in Tokyo, including with New Zealand Embassy. We will continue our thought leadership and research activities, and endeavor to remain an opinion leader in issues surrounding national security and economic security.
