The Institute for International Socio-Economic Studies (IISE) is pleased to share the video archive of the keynote speech delivered by Martin Casado, General Partner at Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), at IISE Forum 2026, “A Future Society Co-Created with AI: A Day for Global Knowledge Exchange”, held in February 2026 at the TAKANAWA GATEWAY Convention Center.

The main theme of the IISE Forum 2026 was AI and its impact on the future of society. In his keynote, “What Gen AI Means for the Software Industry, and Investment Perspective,” Mr. Casado offered valuable insights on how generative AI is transforming the software industry. He addressed the growing demand for AI-driven solutions, dramatic reductions in development costs and timelines, advances in automation, and the changing role of software developers and engineers as the industry enters the “Golden Age of Software.”

Following the keynote, Mr. Casado participated in a panel discussion titled “Japan’s Current Position and Future Strategy in the AI-Native Society,” joined by prominent leaders in data science and executive strategy: Prof. Kazuto Ataka (Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, Keio University / Senior Strategist, LINE Yahoo), Miho Naganuma (Chief Professional, CDO Office, NEC Corporation), and Kumi Fujisawa (Chair, IISE). The panel explored how rapid AI adoption is transforming society, business, and talent, new frameworks for enterprises, collaboration between startups and major corporations, and the evolving relationship between humans and AI.

The forum also featured sessions where distinguished experts from various fields discussed how key themes such as “space,” “environment,” and “self-sovereign identity” are expected to change in an AI-Native society, and what new opportunities and challenges may emerge in each area.
